Sulco d’Alma are a Wellington-based samba funk band with a groove which draws deep from the syncopated lures of Latin America. They pull a strong influence from prolific artists such as Azymuth and Gene Harris. On this auspicious occasion, they're are joined, once again, by Rachel Fraser and her beautiful voice. The core group is comprised of 5 members, including, Jacqui Nyman on bass, Jules Blewman on Guitar, Ayrton Foote on keys and Andreas Lepper on percussion. They are lead by drummer Thomas Friggens, who formed the band in 2015. Since their formation, Sulco d’Alma has developed a unique and hypnotic live performance which captures the skill and sensitivity of these talented musicians. Don’t miss the opportunity to see them perform live.
